Cisco Internetwork Operating System Software (IOS) and Cisco Catalyst Operating Software (CatOS) could allow a remote attacker to gain read-write access and modify the configuration of the Cisco device. A vulnerability in the View-based Access Control MIB (VACM) feature of SNMPv3 could allow a remote attacker to examine the read-only community string by using the VACM feature to obtain the read-write community string. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to gain read-write access or modify the configuration of the Cisco device.
