When a hacker/cracker breaches a system, they usually install two kinds of a services: a packet sniffer to record network traffic, and a keylogger to record all the user's keystrokes. Such programs can reveal passwords as well as sensitive data. Most Remote Access Trojans (RATs) contain built-in keyloggers for this purpose.
- KeyGhost-A hardware based keylogger that sits between the keyboard and the computer. It can log all the keystrokes into a 500k memory, which can then be downloaded into the computer. To see if your computer has such a device installed, type: "1234retrievekeys" or look on the back of the computer to see if a strange device is installed.
